My name’s Becky Lancashire and I’m an ITV News journalist based in the Channel Islands.

My job involves bulletin production, digital production, news editing, reporting, self-shooting, presenting, planning and researching, amongst other things. I am also one of twelve Digital Leads across the country, overseeing our regional teams and working to improve our online output. More recently, I completed a month-long attachment in the ITN network newsroom in London.

In terms of education, I graduated from the University of Lincoln with a First Class Honours degree in Journalism in 2017. The course was accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) – from which I received a Gold Standard Diploma including 100wpm shorthand – and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). Aside from my degree, I also graduated with two awards; the Professor John Tulloch Award for Best Journalism Student and the Margaret Matthews Prize for Professional Distinction.

I have previously freelanced for the LincsFM Group (Yorkshire) and interned with Sky Sports News, BBC’s The One Show and ITV News Calendar.

Outside of work, I am also the founder the host of the podcast Into Words, which is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Podbean.

“Becky is that blend of talent, determination, and creative thinking that makes your heart sing when you see her bring stories and ideas to life. Whether for broadcast or digital, by video, audio, text or visuals, her approach remains the same: tell a story in a way that brings out the best from her contributors and capture both the imagination and attention of the end user. That’s a proper win win.”

Gary Burgess, Journalist

Over the years I have worked with so many people and Becky for me stands out as being approachable, kind and professional. She is able to think on her feet and offer solutions. She will always listen to you and what you have to say.
